Indonesia’s transition from diesel-based power to renewable energy is a critical step towards achieving its climate goals. However, replacing technology alone is not enough. Ensuring that workers, local economies, and vulnerable communities benefit from this shift is essential to delivering a just energy transition.

Centred on Standard 9 of Indonesia’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), which focuses on economic diversification and transformation, this report examines how energy transition investments can support livelihoods, strengthen local economies, and build long-term resilience in remote regions.
