Think 2030 – Just Transition: Aligning climate and environmental action with social equity and well-being

The 2024 edition of the biennial Think2030 conference, an evidence-based, non-partisan platform gathering decision-makers and analysts from policy, business, and research across Europe, will take place in Brussels on March 27. Its objective is to identify the most impactful science-policy solutions instrumental to the achievement of a more sustainable Europe, providing policy-makers and decision-makers with relevant and timely policy recommendations.

Pursuing a green and just transition is one of the core priorities of the Belgian Presidency’s work programme during its mandate as chief negotiator for the Council of the European Union. During the “Just transition: Aligning climate and environmental action with social equity and well-being” session organised by the ZOE Institute as part of the Science4Policy session, a panel of experts will explicitly address challenges and opportunities arising from the just transition and practical actions to be taken, analyse how to foster prosperity within planetary boundaries, and reflect on the social acceptability of measures undertaken to tackle climate and environmental concerns.
