The World Bank and Just Transition in an Era of Rupture

A Just Transition offers a way forward in an era of rupture, and finance is critical to making it happen.

How can the World Bank and other multilateral development banks help deliver a sustainable transition that puts frontline communities’ rights and priorities first? And how can COP 31 advance this agenda?

This Civil Society Forum event at the World Bank/International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings will examine gaps in coal financing through financial intermediaries and explore ways to strengthen transparency, accountability and access to remedy, with recommendations for international financial institutions and development banks.

It will also examine the just transition finance landscape and the role of COP 31, alongside trade union perspectives on financing a green and just industrial policy.
