The Role of Think Tanks in Just Energy Transition

The Centre for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move) and the Faculty of Economics at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand, have initiated a research programme to explore the role of think tanks in driving just energy transition in Thailand.

In order to achieve its climate goals, Thailand must address several gaps, such as the development of comprehensive energy plans, promoting inclusive public participation, and fostering strategic public movement.

Although Thailand has many energy research institutes, both within and outside universities, they mostly focus only on academic studies and do not contribute to public debates and policy changes. 

The online event on March 15, 2024 aims to learn from energy think tanks and gain knowledge and practical experience in establishing a successful think tank to help facilitate the just energy transition in Thailand.
