Powering the Future: Challenges and job opportunities in the energy transition era


As one of Indonesia’s largest coal-producing regions, South Sumatra is facing significant changes as the country moves towards an energy transition, with important implications for the world of work.

Organized by ILO Indonesia in collaboration with Sriwijaya University, this in-person workshop will discuss the future of the energy transition and its impact on workers. It aims to prepare young people as prospective workers for a just energy transition.

The workshop will provide new insights, discussions, and perspectives on strategies for addressing the challenges of achieving net-zero emissions in the world of work. It will also explore the skills that will be needed in the future to help ensure that no worker is left behind in the energy transition.
