Enabling Just Energy Transition in Asia
Asia’s heavy reliance on fossil fuels brings both technical and financial challenges when it comes to implementing energy transition. Recognising the diverse capacities of each Asian country can help address the risks and seize the opportunities that the transition brings.
In response to the need for a just energy transition, COP 30 introduced the Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels (TAFF) Roadmap to guide global transition pathways, supported by initiatives like the Belém Declaration and the first international TAFF Conference in Santa Marta, Colombia. Although non-negotiative, the conference provides key inputs for the roadmap and offers guidance for countries—including those in Asia—to develop just transition plans aligned with their national contexts and climate commitments.
Join this webinar series to gain insights into the status of Asia’s just energy transition. The Indonesia Research Institute for Decarbonization (IRID), Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC), Parabukas, and Germanwatch will convene this webinar to explore the TAFF conference’s key takeaways and their implications for advancing just energy transition efforts across Asia-Pacific.
The webinar will be conducted in English. Simultaneous interpretation will be available for English-Indonesian (vice versa) and Korean-English (vice versa).
