Driving Prosperity in Southeast Asia with Demand-driven Clean Energy Skills Development

Southeast Asia is experiencing a dynamic transformation in skills development and workforce readiness, driven by technological advancements, climate imperatives, and evolving industry needs. Governments, private sector actors, and multilateral organisations are increasingly recognising that targeted skill-building initiatives are important for achieving sustainable economic growth, energy transitions, and youth employment outcomes.

This webinar series seeks to provide policy-makers and decision-makers with a platform for knowledge exchange on global best practices in workforce development, skill-building strategies, and regulatory approaches to support sustainable economic growth and energy transition objectives.

Following the success of the first session, the coming webinar will dive into the practical application of labour market data and demand-driven reskilling to bridge the skills gap in one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets. This session will move beyond high-level theory to explore:

•  Evidence-based strategy: Using labour market analytics to inform national training and “green job” frameworks.

•  Inclusive pathways: Successful strategies for reskilling workers in transitioning energy sectors and for integrating women and young people into the clean energy economy.

•  Strategic insights: Featuring regional and global perspectives, including from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Department of Energy (Philippines), and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy India (to be confirmed)

•  Shape the resource: An interactive session where participants can provide input into the development of the Empowering People Initiative toolkit to ensure that it addresses the practical needs of regional policy-makers
