Climate Week 2-2025: Turning Ambition into Action

Climate Week 2 (CW2) is a global platform to accelerate climate implementation, bringing together governments, technical experts, financial institutions, civil society, and youth to convert ambition into action. It is part of the UNFCCC’s Climate Week series, which convenes regional and global actors to tackle real-world implementation challenges and identify scalable solutions.

Discussions will centre on the urgent need for stronger adaptation efforts, while ensuring that the shift to low-carbon economies happens in a way that is fair, inclusive, and socially just. A key focus will also be on unlocking and aligning finance for implementation—including through the innovative potential of Article 6 mechanisms under the Paris Agreement.

As part of Climate Week 2-2025, the Fourth Dialogue under the United Arab Emirates Just Transition Work Programme will take place on 1 and 2 September 2025, with the theme “just energy transition pathways and holistic approaches to just transitions including socioeconomic, workforce, social protection and other dimensions, based on nationally defined development priorities”.

CW2 will precede the Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS2), which takes place in Addis Ababa the following week.
