Beyond Coal: Youth perspectives for thriving regions

This EURegionsWeek Close to You session brings the European dialogue on regions and cities directly to coal+ communities, creating a space for young people to discuss what a fair transition means locally. Inspired by COP21 and the Paris Agreement, it will explore how regional and local action can turn climate goals into opportunities.

Through youth-led contributions, interactive exchanges and break-out discussions, participants will share views on jobs and skills, affordable energy, post-mining land use and participation in decision-making. The outcomes will support the Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition’s work on youth inclusion and stronger, more resilient regions
