RESET Network Launch Event: Solutions for South-led just energy transitions

Decarbonising energy production in the Global South is essential to avoiding dangerous climate change, but countries in the Global South, outside of China, receive only 20% of global clean energy investment. This investment gap is both a climate risk and a massive, untapped opportunity.

Many climate policies have been designed and tested in the Global North and may not effectively address the distinctive challenges in the Global South. Countries across the Global South need trusted local experts who understand their conditions and can help bridge gaps between research, policy design, and investment.

Launching in March 2026, the RESET Network brings together:

  • South-led economic and policy innovation for energy and climate transition grounded in local needs
  • An inclusive, collaborative, and transparent approach across a multi-country network, supporting network members to produce open-source and locally tailored tools, resources, and reports
  • Training to bridge gaps in technical and institutional capacity across researchers and supporting engagement with decision-makers to achieve better policy outcomes.

Join RESET Network for region-specific webinars featuring:

  • An introduction to the RESET Network
  • Energy-sector case studies from participating countries showcasing locally led solutions
  • A panel discussion from experts in boosting South-South collaboration to accelerate just energy transitions
